Cancer Warriors Bangladesh spreads awareness against cancer through social media, reaching nearly 100,000 people with valuable information about cancer facts and treatment.
Bangladesh Cancer Aid Trust - BANCAT launched Warriors’ Club on 04 February at The Daily Star Hall, Karwan Bazar in partnership with International Medical Information Centre - IMIC.
Warriors’ Club is a support group initiated with the aim of having cancer survivors as the strength of cancer patients with emotional, mental and spiritual support. This will be a monthly event working as a support group for the patients suffering from cancer and their families.
The club was launched at The Daily Star seminal hall with cancer patients and survivors, BANCAT and IMIC supporters, oncologists and dignitaries associated with fighting cancer as guests. Najmus Ahmed Albab, author of Bangladesh Cancer Aid Trust – BANCAT spoke about his leukemia and his win against cancer. Media personality Sara Zaker participated virtually and spoke about her breast cancer fight and Late Aly Zaker’s fight against cancer too. Photographer & Event Manager, Raina Mahmud graced the event speaking about her challenges and blessings of being a cancer survivor. Ivy Huq Russell, Founder & CEO of Maya joined the launch virtually from abroad and spoke about her mother, Maya’s fight with cancer and its adverse impact on her mental health. Along with the survivors, Prof. Dr. Golam Mohiuddin Faruq, Program Director & Oncologist, Bangladesh Cancer Society spoke about the importance of cancer awareness and having a support group.
