About Us
Bangladesh Cancer Aid Trust – BANCAT is a non-profit working towards raising awareness, with the ultimate goal, of eliminating cancer as a major health problem in Bangladesh by prevention and diminishing suffering through education, advocacy and service.
Approximately 150,000 people die while 200,000 develop cancer annually in Bangladesh. Out of which, only 25% can avail treatment. Our goal is to change this scenario.

OUR FOUNDER
Najmus Ahmed Albab
An Ordinary Man with An Extraordinary Story
After conquering acute myeloid leukaemia, Najmus Ahmed started a cancer aid trust for his countrymen. It started out as a high fever that would not subside, so Mr. Najmus Ahmed’s family had him admitted to a hospital in Bangladesh. Thinking it was just dengue, he remained optimistic. But a few days later, in March 2011, he was transferred to Parkway Cancer Centre (PCC) in Singapore.
